A brand that creates scarves, stoles, and blankets, which began its expansion in Japan in 2021.
"SILVANA MANETTI"
It was originally founded in Florence, Italy, in 2001, as a fabric production laboratory with artisanal techniques.
They apparently had well-known high-end European brands as clients and, for many years, proposed fabric production and provided SILVANA MANETTI's special techniques to these brands.
That's why, for about 20 years, they have developed fabrics using unique techniques, re-evaluating concepts, and expanded their research and creative scope.
Then, in the winter of 2021.
SILVANA MANETTI, which had not been active publicly until then, finally debuted as a brand that fully utilized its unique techniques.
That was my first encounter with the brand.
As mentioned, the debut was in Autumn/Winter 2021. From a buying cycle perspective, products for AW 2021 are usually almost decided between January and April of 2021.
However, I was introduced to this brand much later, in August.
At that time, our store also carried a wide variety of The Inoue Brothers scarves, making for an extensive lineup.
Of course, before its debut, SILVANA MANETTI was a brand I had never seen or heard of. While it was good that I was introduced to it with the suggestion "Why don't you take a look?", I thought...
With The Inoue Brothers' scarves already in stock, it might be difficult to carry another brand at this time. That was until I saw the actual product.
It was over 3 years ago, but I still remember it.
The shock I felt when I first saw the actual product.
That "feeling" of an electric current running through my brain.
An incredibly exquisite, unbelievable technique that no one else in the world could reproduce.
I vividly remember feeling the immense creativity of a true "fabric research and development laboratory."
The astonishing touch from the adhesion of fibers, almost like a unique "felt state."
The way high-quality raw materials blend together, stemming from years of experience.
And, in recent years, even techniques utilizing the world's oldest photographic method, "cyanotype (blueprint)."
Craftsmanship that you won't encounter anywhere else but SILVANA MANETTI.
Until now, we have handled items picked from the brand's collection according to the season, but this time, we are showcasing an unprecedented variety.
It will be held for 9 days, from Saturday, November 16th to Sunday, November 24th.
And I'll tell you in advance, Saturday, November 23rd and Sunday, November 24th will be a double event with taupe D.Motoike.
