Sen'en Fujita scarf

AUBETT has been on sale since the 18th (Saturday).

I'm glad that everyone was looking forward to it.

I'm glad that there are people who like the long shirts, which are rarely seen or even exist, not only in the collection but also in the men's wear genre.

Mr. Sugihara says that in the men's industry,

“Long-sleeved polo shirts” and “long shirts” seem to be unpopular types of clothing, so from the manufacturer's point of view, they are considered taboo. lol

Well, I like it, so I can't help it.

At the end of the third day, there were 4 places left, 2 in size 4 and 2 in size 5.

I really think it's comfortable in the summer and can be used all year round, so if you're interested, please take a look.

And today...

When I was introducing Sugihara-san's long shirts at the store, a customer asked me about the scarf I always wear around my neck.

"What is that?"

I've received quite a few questions about this, so I'd like to introduce a little bit about it.

Even in this photo of me wearing a long shirt, I didn't change any clothes and took the photo in my usual self, so I kept the scarf on as well.

In the first place, I only wear things that I own. That belief.

So now I don't buy anything related to clothes from other stores.

Everything related to clothes, such as shoes and accessories. In fact, I don't think I want it.

I'm a fan of the designers of the brands we carry, but that's not all.

Therefore, the only things I acquire are those that I feel a strong sympathy for.

Of course, this applies to everything sold in stores.

In a way, I get the energy that keeps me going from the things I wear, the things I encounter, and the people who create them.

So is this scarf.

The brand is ``Fujita Dyeing Garden (Sen-en),'' a prestigious Kyoto Yuzen dyeing factory in Kyoto that has been in business for 90 years this year.

It's a collaboration between that dye factory and a brand called "humoresque."

Since humoresque is a women's brand, our store only carries products made by Fujita Someen.

Sen'en Fujita avec humoresque

This is the brand name of this scarf.

Sen'en Fujita.

What's so amazing about this?

In other words, it's a world first.

This means that they are doing “indigo dyed printing.”

Indigo dyeing doesn't have a high fastness to begin with, and compared to chemical dyeing, it's also much less stable.

Also, when indigo dyeing is applied, the thread, fabric, and clothing are simply immersed in an indigo dye solution, washed, and oxidized.

That's why everything is indigo and monochrome.

Well, I'm really fascinated by that.

But, think about it.

Everyone who is reading this blog.

Have you ever seen an “indigo dyed print” in your life?

Have you ever come across an indigo dyed pattern? ?

I don't have one.

Personally, I rarely wear printed items, but this is something completely different.

That is the characteristic of Sen'en Fujita.

There are three variations.

All humans have tried to do it.

It's called "indigo dyed print."

How great would it be if we could use the color of indigo, which humans find beautiful, and combine it with delicate pattern expressions? It seems that many people have tried this in the past.

However, it didn't happen.

Therefore, it does not exist in the world.

Fujita Someen has developed "unique technology" that has never been created before in the world by using the technology cultivated in Kyoto Yuzen over 90 years and collaboration with research institutions.

That is "indigo dyed print".

Well, it's been 90 years now, so even though I only started working on it a little while ago, it's true that I've been using traditional Japanese techniques for over 80 years and still trying something innovative. I think that's amazing.

Because it overturns the history of that dye factory.

If something has been going on for decades and has such a long tradition, it's usually hard to think of trying something new.

As I have written about in a previous blog of "Yamauchi", it is "innovation in maintenance".

This is exactly it.

Maintenance = Protecting and continuing the technology that has been used until now

Innovation = doing something new that has never been done before

In this case, we will continue with the ``Yuzen dyeing (maintenance)'' that Fujita Someen has been doing up until now, and while making the most of it, we will carry out ``Indigo dyeing printing (innovation)''.

“Innovation in maintenance”

I think this is the best.

Well, as for how this scarf's ``indigo dyed print'' was achieved, it seems to be ``glue.''

It seems that they have jointly developed a ``special glue'' that mediates the indigo dyeing and the fabric.

This made it possible to print stably on fabric using indigo dyeing, which has extremely low dye stability.

By the way, the durability is also quite strong.

As long as you don't get the scarf wet and scrub the white fabric as hard as you can, you'll be fine.

Well, I've been talking about indigo-dyed prints for a while now, but the "etching" that I use is not indigo-dyed. lol

However, it is printed using the Kyo Yuzen dyeing technique.

This is etching.

It has a unique mesh-like pattern.

Overlapping stitches and areas where the white background peeks through.

I really like this mood.

Etching is one of the techniques of copperplate printing.

Printmaking involves carving a copper plate and creating patterns and pictures.

Of these, etching is not a technique that involves directly cutting the copper plate to create indentations, but rather a type of plate-making that uses something called a ``corrosion liquid.''

This pattern is a greatly enlarged version of the etched copper plate.

So it's not just a graphic, it's a pattern that makes something that already exists visible.

I like this mood, so I'm wearing this.

It's a satin weave (satin) fabric.

The blend ratio is 60% silk and 40% cotton.

Quite comfortable.

I often wear something around my neck, and lately I've been wearing this every day.

Somehow, I don't wear it just to look cool, but to admire Sen'en Fujita's technique, to gain strength to move forward from here, to make my neck look a little better, or to make my neck feel more comfortable. There are many reasons, including that it's good, and to prevent stains on the collar of your shirt.

So I simply tied it up like this.

I've washed this several times, and the color hasn't even faded into the water, and the scarf hasn't changed color or migrated.

It's very good.

I still wear a mask because the pollen is bad. lol

Customers, please feel free to do so.

When expanded, it becomes a square like this.

110cm x 110cm.

I think it has many uses, but the standard way to use it is to first fold it into a triangle.

triangle.

Then fold the vertices of the triangle.

Fold it round and round.

Then, make it into a strip.

All that's left to do is simply tie it.

The important thing here is not to wrap it in a fashionable way.

I think this is important.

It's just a tool. tool.

A tool both externally and internally.

That's why wearing it is mentally important, and it's not about being popular with women or anything like that.

Therefore, it is best to tie it easily.

Since it is a print, the back side is somewhat transparent from the front side.

This is an indigo dyed print.

The pattern resembles something painted with a brush.

It is a pattern that expresses delicate lines and gives a sense of fluctuation.

This type is 90cm x 90cm, which is slightly smaller than the etching one.

And this one is striped.

It has a faded expression and vague striped appearance.

And a side-by-side comparison of all three types.

The difference is 20cm, so the photo-etched one is the largest.

These are also essential tools for me.

Up until now, we have been telling people who are interested in the product by visiting our store without introducing it, but if you are interested, please take a look.

I think these scarves are also good.
