KHOKI's creations for the 2020SS season were inspired by the styles of ethnic minorities that still exist today.
These ethnic minorities live in remote areas in the world, and do not have radio waves that are everywhere in Japan.
I think the ability to catch information is so low that it cannot be compared to Japan today.
I don't think their style is "relative" at all.
It's not about how you compare yourself to someone like the "world's fashion scene".
A time-honored style rooted in the place.
A style that is unique to the place.
I think it's "absolute style".
There is a conviction to express it, and that conviction must be unshakable.
Isn't that the "freedom to dress up" that is the essence of fashion?
This time, we will hold a special three-day event with KHOKI.
Three days from Saturday, February 15, 2020 to Monday, February 17.
Together with the KHOKI design team, we would like to create a special installation space where you can feel the products created by KHOKI and our store.
For those three days, I worked with KHOKI to create 15 special products.
The base is the same shape, but they are all different.
In other words, everything is one-of-a-kind.
What I want to convey through this product in these three days.
I want you to choose the one-of-a-kind product, wear it, and express yourself.
It looks pretty.
However, it contains our extraordinary thoughts.
I can assure you that clothes that look like that have no resemblance in Japan, so I would like you to continue to have them as your partner, not just a temporary fashion, rather than wearing them and consuming them.
That's why the 15 outfits this time are all different in appearance, and all 15 outfits have names.
Because I want you to go out with me as your "partner" in life.
They all look different and have names.
Look at each personality and reconsider the act of choosing one.
The act of choosing is the starting line for living with that first outfit, so I'm sure you'll feel a sense of tension.
Price is price too.
However, if you spend time with the clothes that you choose yourself, I think you will be able to express yourself.
Because we have so many products.
And feel the freedom to dress up again.
