Today, I have an announcement.
Space for desertic

This year, we will once again hold the desertic EXHIBITION.
The first desertic pop-up event was held at our shop about two years ago.
However, the brand itself and designer Taira's career are very long, probably around 20 years.
We also introduce a part of the ongoing efforts of such a continuously operating brand at our shop.
This "ongoing effort" is the expression through crazy patchwork of vintage knitwear.
This crazy patchwork of vintage knitwear is mainly applied to bags and chairs and released as desertic works, and in this "Space for desertic" event, we will exhibit and sell such works.
Yesterday, I posted a blog about SILVANA MANETTI, and I feel like they are very similar.
SILVANA MANETTI and desertic are neither scarf brands nor bag brands.
What SILVANA MANETTI truly designs is not "unique and exquisite technique scarves" but rather the "emotional stirrings" of those who see them, such as excitement and awe.
The same goes for desertic. The point to focus on when looking at desertic's works is not the production hurdles or technical difficulties associated with vintage knit patchwork, but rather the introspective point of "which one inexplicably draws me in."
When I try to put this into words, I think there's a possibility it comes across with a very convoluted nuance, but to put it simply, it's like,
"I love this!"
or
"I think this is the cutest!"
It's about finding your favorite, and both SILVANA MANETTI and desertic just happen to have utility as scarves, bags, or chairs.
I think bringing in too much of a fashion context makes it difficult to purely follow your heart's desire of "I like this!", so I hope you can come with a flat mindset, as if choosing pottery or a painting.
We will create a space in CASANOVA&CO's store where you can engage with desertic and your own emotional responses.
Therefore, I hope it can be a more open and cultural space rather than just a pop-up sales area.
...I've put this pressure on myself, so I'll do my best to make it a great space. (laughs)
And this year, a sales support staff member will also be present at the CASANOVA&CO store.
The event starts on Saturday, the 15th, but the staff member will be present on Sunday, the 16th.
I hope to be able to introduce desertic a little more before the event.
