Today, as the title suggests, I'll be talking about ERL.
Since this is the first time I'm introducing the brand on the blog, I'll briefly explain what it's about.
The designer is Eli Russell Linnetz.
Taking his initials, it becomes "ERL".
Mr. Linnetz, who originally worked as a photographer, is a multi-talented creator who has worked on Kanye West's music videos and Lady Gaga's stage designs.
The brand has a street/skater vibe at its core, evoking the scenery of Venice Beach in Los Angeles, California, Mr. Linnetz's hometown.
That's a very rough profile of ERL.
I myself already knew about ERL, and that was exactly the image I had.
However, when I saw the actual products at ERL's first domestic exhibition in July last year, that image was pleasantly overturned.
ERL doesn't just have good fabrics, stitching, and patterns; it's more about "playing" with them.
ERL expresses what we would call "specifications" as a field of "play."
Clothing creation that cannot be measured by "amazing" or "good," but is incredibly exciting.
Of course, amazing things are exciting, but this "excitement" comes from a different angle than usual.
So, please discard your preconceptions when looking at clothes and view them with an open mind.
I would be delighted if you could find your own new and exciting points.
No matter how you look at it, ERL truly has that potential.
