Today, following yesterday, I'd like to talk about the DAN TOMIMATSU order event starting tomorrow.
That said, what I'm introducing today is not DAN TOMIMATSU.
“BESPEAK”
As briefly mentioned in the blog post before last, it's a brand different from DAN TOMIMATSU, which Mr. Tomimatsu also works on.
Although it was posted recently, I will once again share the brand's official statement below.
BESPEAK is an order jewelry brand founded in 2019 by designer Dan Tomimatsu.
Each of our rings is crafted by skilled Japanese artisans after receiving an order from the customer.
With the concept of "rings that harmonize with mind and body," we propose the entire experience, including the consideration period, production, and delivery, as our design.
BESPEAK is the present progressive form of "bespoke," a word that means custom-made.
We aim to connect the wonderful culture of custom-made jewelry to the future in a form suitable for the modern age.
The characteristic of BESPEAK is that it is entirely custom-made.
As the word "bespoke" suggests, we receive direct orders from customers and then begin production.
Therefore, it is not permanently available in select shops, and even at our store, you can only view it once a year at an event like this.
This is the third time, I believe.
Due to its custom-made nature, even during the DAN TOMIMATSU event, we set up a partitioned space where you can focus solely on BESPEAK. All the fixtures used in that space, from tables and chairs to ring gauges, are custom-made by Mr. Tomimatsu for BESPEAK.
From this perspective, I believe you can understand that it's not just another custom-made jewelry brand.
I'm wearing a gold ring that I had made with BESPEAK last year, and what I felt from my own BESPEAK experience is that
"through the experience of facing an object, I face my own heart."
And as a result, wearing that one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry every day, I believe, is what is expressed by the phrase "harmonizing with mind and body."
In that sense, I am still in the midst of BESPEAK.
As the present progressive form indicates, even now, as I receive and wear the ordered item, I am still in the midst of BESPEAK.
A long, continuous dialogue with oneself.
It will become a presence that bridges that gap.
Now for a slightly more practical matter.
Based on past experience, I think you'll need at least an hour to consider BESPEAK.
Especially for wedding rings or other paired rings.
The value of BESPEAK includes the time you spend deliberating and choosing, so if you are considering it, we kindly ask that you visit us with ample time.
This is because there are so many items that customers need to decide on for a custom order,
・Ring size
・Base shape
・Volume
・Type of metal used
・Type of polishing finish
So, you'll be asked to make quite a few decisions.
Everyone has their own approach, whether they start by deciding on the ring's shape or the metal. However, it seems many people go back and forth between various elements before making a decision.
So, if you can spare a little time, I think you'll have a great BESPEAK experience.

Because a wide variety of options are available, what is created is truly unique to each individual.
Various factors, such as a person's gender, age, skin tone, bone structure, and lifestyle including their occupation, shape the jewelry.
And the "options" prepared for this are also very special, as all the metals are made with BESPEAK's original recipes.

A total of 11 types.
There are K18 metals I've never seen before, and I feel like it took me about three days just to choose the metal. (laughs)
I eventually chose yellow gold for its primitive nature, but I encourage all of you to take your time, try it on your skin, look at it under natural light, and deliberate thoroughly.
As for the shapes, they are all very simple.
Just because it's custom-made doesn't mean there are quirky designs available.
That's because BESPEAK, once completed, is meant to accompany your heart for a long time, on a daily basis.
You can view BESPEAK every day during the period, and on the first day, Saturday the 12th, Mr. Shiiki, the brand's sales representative, will be present at the store.
Mr. Shiiki has been involved in almost all BESPEAK orders, not only for DAN TOMIMATSU but also for past BESPEAK events outside of CASANOVA&CO.
It might be a good idea to seek his advice.
