COHÉRENCE 26AW

Hello.

This is Noguchi from CASANOVA&CO.

The days are getting shorter, the sweet olive is in bloom, and the food tastes delicious. This is autumn.

The store has also begun to stock the main pieces for the autumn/winter season.

We can hear the footsteps of winter, so it’s about that time of year.

With that said, the brand I’ve been eagerly looking forward to introducing to you all this autumn/winter season is COHÉRENCE.

We began working with COHÉRENCE in the 26SS season.

Since our first timing was spring/summer, we started by offering only the 10oz LOGGER DENIM from the SARRAU collection.

However, when it comes to COHÉRENCE, their coats are truly incredible.

While the brand obviously offers coats in the spring/summer season as well, their autumn/winter coats are something special.

I personally knew about COHÉRENCE when I decided to carry them, and I went to the exhibition thinking I understood what kind of character the brand had, but the autumn/winter coats I saw at my second COHÉRENCE exhibition were far beyond my expectations and absolutely wonderful.

I thought to myself, "So this is COHÉRENCE..."

Or maybe I muttered it under my breath.

That’s how cool they were.

They easily surpassed the brilliance and coolness of COHÉRENCE that I thought I knew, and I was so blown away that words like "surprise" or "emotion" felt trivial.

That is why I have been looking forward to this. To be able to introduce them to you.

Being able to introduce such clothing and the people involved in creating them, and having new encounters with such things, is truly a joy.

There are countless amazing and incredible things about COHÉRENCE. But first, I want you all to enjoy them.

Get excited. Just like I am. We can talk about the details after that.

We are introducing 2 models of COHÉRENCE in our store this season.

A pair of corduroy pants from the SARRAU line, and what could be called their signature coat.

Let’s start with the pants.

COHÉRENCE

ALAIN

fabric _ 10 WALE CORDUROY

color _ FUCUS

size _ S,M,L

※Size S is sold out

ALAIN, the pants released as a staple within the COHÉRENCE SARRAU collection.

First of all, what is the SARRAU collection?

SARRAU is a French word that refers to a work jacket, or in other words, an over-garment similar to workwear.

While COHÉRENCE draws inspiration from portraits of great artists and pays tribute to their styles, the SARRAU collection has aspects that focus more on their creative activities and active attire.

Among these, ALAIN is inspired by the style of "him," a tennis player, a solo sailor, and a writer.

Apparently, photos of "him" taken at a tennis tournament in France show him wearing a style where the waist of white sports trousers is tied with a rope.

ALAIN is what was created after researching that style of sports trousers and waist-cord pants from that time.

As with everything from COHÉRENCE, they are not simply reproducing the past exactly as it was from the portraits of great people.

Taking inspiration from them, they thoroughly research everything, and from material development to patterns and sewing, they bring together the wisdom of modern Japanese garment making to create each piece one by one.

The terms "reconstruction" and "reinterpretation" have a mundane ring to them, but it’s about paying tribute to the sophisticated style they had at the time, while appropriately using what could be done back then and what can be done now to connect it to the present and the future.

I interpret that cycle as what COHÉRENCE is.

Perhaps that is why the shape of ALAIN is neither old nor new.

The way the waist rope crosses and ties from left to right looks fresh, but it doesn't feel outlandish; it feels like it has already been sublimated as a style unique to ALAIN.

One could also take it to mean that the degree of perfection is that high.

As mentioned earlier, it has a unique style where the waist is cinched with cords from the left and right.

It’s a construction that feels full of security, as if to say, "Leave the waist to me."

Since they are trousers worn by tying a cord, this sense of security is quite welcome.

If your waist doesn't feel secure, you can't even sleep peacefully at night.

By the way, the color of the cord used changes depending on the material and color, but for this FUCUS-colored corduroy, it is a grey cord.

A very lovely color combination.

The color of this corduroy itself is also super lovely.

The color name is FUCUS.

It seems it is a word that means a type of seaweed called "bladderwrack."

It’s so high-fashion that I didn't know how to read it, but sure enough, it is a deep blue-green like seaweed.

The luster that feels like humidity and this coloring, which only a high-quality corduroy can possess, feel very mystical.

The fabric itself is a corduroy with a solid density, but it doesn't have any unpleasant weight or stiffness.

The pile is also even, just like velvet.

The cotton used as the raw material must be good.

I think it’s a corduroy that suits both wearing it cleanly and treating it in a tough, rugged way.

I am 178cm and 65kg, wearing a size M.

Please note that the length is slightly turned up, so you can assume it is a bit longer.

Even so, what a beautiful pair of pants. They are absolutely captivating.

We introduced this ALAIN in 10-ounce denim material during the spring/summer season, but the mood changes when it becomes corduroy.

They are neither thin nor thick, with a mystical yet calm color.

They are easy-to-use pants without being overly assertive, but I think you will feel a clear difference when you wear them.

They accommodate various styles, are casual yet sophisticated, and don't limit your body type.

I think I will probably order ALAIN every season.

Because I am the type of person who just keeps ordering the things they love.

Size S has already sold out quickly, but if the size fits you, please try them on.

COHÉRENCE

CORB

fabric _ CHEVRON TWEED JERSEY

color _ BROWN

size _ S,M

And, the coat.

There were about 7 coat models from COHÉRENCE for this 26AW season, but the reason I limited it to only the CORB in CHEVRON TWEED JERSEY is simple. It was love at first sight for me.

I will explain the details later, but for those who fall for it, they will really fall for it.

I fell for it super hard. I think.

That’s why I fell in love at first sight. That’s all.

However, of course that is not all, and since I believe this is a coat packed with the beauty of COHÉRENCE, please let me introduce it in a little detail.

€

First, a brief word on the material.

A material named CHEVRON TWEED JERSEY.

Of course, all COHÉRENCE fabrics are original and produced in Japan.

As the name "JERSEY" implies, this fabric is knitted, not woven.

This CHEVRON TWEED JERSEY was created using a knitting technique with the goal of capturing the beautiful, rich texture of vintage tweed while making it lighter and more comfortable.

Below, I am quoting the official product description.

Chevron Tweed Jersey reproduces the beauty of traditional vintage tweed using a rare knitting machine, while offering lightness and elasticity.

The materials are blended using our original recipe with four types of wool, including Shetland wool, and are spun using two different spinning methods.

p>

I'm not quoting in English just to sound fancy.

There was a Japanese version, but the English text provided more detailed information, so I chose that one.

It seems they use an original yarn made by blending four types of wool using two different spinning methods.

Beyond the complexity of the color blend visible to the eye, it seems there is also a complex recipe for the raw material blend and the spinning process.

At this level, I don't know the exact details of what raw materials are used and how, but one look tells you immediately that this is not an ordinary fabric.

I fell in love with this fabric from the very start.

During the exhibition, I was debating with my mind, heart, and body under the premise of: "Which coat should I choose that can make use of this fabric?"

Viewed from the back and the side.

Even just hanging on a hanger, it has a dignified presence.

Such beauty, even without being worn.

The "face" of the coat looks like this.

It is possible to fasten the top button, but looking at the collar press and the front and back of the buttonholes, this state is clearly the default.

By the way, the buttons on the neck are for attaching a separately sold liner.

Liners are available for all compatible COHÉRENCE coat models, so you can always add one later on.

I personally think it’s warm enough without the liner, but this is a thoughtful feature for those who already own multiple COHÉRENCE coats.

Things I personally love about the CORB model.

This arm.

Three-piece raglan sleeves, with about 6cm turned-up cuffs.

It may not be a style for everyone, but if it suits you, it is the most elegant choice.

There is a general trend out there that suggests one-piece raglan coats are "the best," but I personally don't think there's any objective "better or worse" about it.

Since the styles are different, the range of people they fit will vary, but I believe the three-piece sleeve is overwhelmingly more elegant.

This is because the arm is more three-dimensional and does not twist as much.

However, that also means there is compatibility with one's own body balance, such as shoulder slope and shoulder width.

Still, if you ask whether a one-piece raglan fits everyone, for those it doesn't fit, the shoulders can end up looking boxy. Regardless of whether it's one, two, or three pieces, the only real difference is "how it presents itself when it doesn't fit," and the rest comes down to what the garment itself is aiming for.

n

Personally, I chose the CORB because the balance of this COHÉRENCE piece, the elegance of the three-piece sleeve, and the way it interacted with my own physique felt beautiful to me.

I am 178cm tall and wearing a size M.

The coat is just above the knee and has a fairly compact design, but I think the size M can accommodate anyone up to about 180cm.

For the past few years, oversized coats that you can just "throw on" have been popular, both generally and in our own selections, but a coat that you wear properly like this will always be timeless and wonderful.

I feel like it has a charm that compels you to carry yourself with a bit more grace.

There it is—that arm.

Isn't it the best?

I have a thin chest and sloping shoulders, but I think it would look even better on someone with a bit more of a sturdy upper body.

Maybe I should start training my chest.

Looking from the front, you can see how there is a steep slope at the shoulder and a strong, rounded shape.

Unlike coats with a gentle line that drops off the shoulder, the line from the neck to the shoulder, and from the shoulder down to the arm, is clearly defined.

This is a characteristic of the CORB.

And it is exactly what I fell in love with.

When worn, especially when viewed from an angle from the front, it is just unimaginably beautiful.

One glance tells you it’s a garment that was made with careful attention, but no matter how many times I see it, I can't figure out why it’s *this* beautiful.

I'm sure there’s a difference in technique involved.

But rather than just admiring the craftsmanship, I realized that I love myself in it because it makes me look beautiful.

I decided to carry the CORB for the extremely personal reason that "it suits me well," hoping that others would feel the same way.

You can see how the fabric pools differently from the shoulder to the upper arm when you raise and lower your arm.

Things like shoulder slope and sleeve head height are not particularly unusual, but there is an odd, extraordinary sensation when you feel it on your body.

I had my staff member, Nakayama-kun, take these photos in hopes of conveying even a little of that feeling, but it really doesn't come across. Haha.

It’s not hard to move in, yet the shoulders are clearly defined and your standing posture looks beautiful. It’s a precision-engineered structure, but there is no distortion in your daily life.

...I don't think I'm conveying it well, but regardless, it is incredibly cool.

n

If you're curious, come and try it on for yourself.

This season, we barely sourced any coats at CASANOVA&CO.

The reason is this: the COHÉRENCE CORB.

Because it was just too cool.

I would be delighted if you could experience COHÉRENCE this fall and winter.
